OUR LEADERSHIP & STAFF
Joe Dewey, Interim Pastor
Joe moved to Brooklyn in 2016 after graduating from Covenant Seminary in Saint Louis to serve as a pastoral resident at Resurrection Brooklyn Heights (RBH). Shortly after moving, he was ordained by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and has served RBH as an assistant pastor ever since. In addition to his work as an assistant pastor, Joe oversees the Resurrection Brooklyn Fellows Program, a 9-month discipleship intensive for applying members of Resurrection Brooklyn Church Network. Furthermore, he is working part-time on a Masters in theology with a focus on Ethics at Princeton Theological Seminary. His academic interests are related to the intersection of the church's public witness and ecumenism.
Joe is originally from Columbus, Ohio. After high school, he attended The University of Virginia where he played varsity lacrosse, studied history, and met his now wife, Becca. The two got married shortly after graduating and stayed in Charlottesville to serve a UVA campus ministry, Athletes In Action. Eventually they moved to Saint Louis to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. Becca received a Masters in Counseling and Joe received a Masters in Divinity. They have two young sons, Denton and Louis.
Joe loves to learn, explore the city, run, play soccer on pier 5, see live music, watch college football, and cook (well mostly just eat) good food.
